North Alabama boasts stunning wedding destinations

With its extraordinary natural beauty, the North Alabama region is the perfect setting for a dreamy wedding. Imagine saying “I do” against the most picturesque of views; sparkling lakes, lush vegetation, soaring mountains. The internationally acclaimed music and food facilities, along with a broad selection of beautiful and historical sites will make the most magical of days for the happy couple!

From small and intimate to large, indoors or outside, here are a handful of our favorite wedding destinations from Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association:

Noccalula Falls Park: For a small, rustic experience, Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden checks all the boxes. With a cascading 90-foot waterfall as the backdrop for a beautiful cedar and stone wedding chapel, 65 family and friends can enjoy all mother nature has to offer on the big day.

The Stricklin Hotel: For an elegant, slightly larger wedding – up to 125 guests – the Stricklin Social is located on the second floor of the beautiful Stricklin Hotel in Florence.

Burns Bluff at High Falls: Burns Bluff at High Falls is a premier Wedding Destination Location on an amazing mountaintop in beautiful North Alabama. Unlike most wedding venue rentals, ours includes 48-hour access to the venue and overnight lodging for 18 guests in the Burns Bluff Lodge. Book your fairy tale wedding on the mountain.

Dismals Canyon: For the nature lovers, spend a wedding week or weekend at Dismals Canyon in Phil Campbell. A National Natural Landmark, Dismals Canyon is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Activities for guests could include hikes around the 85 acres of land or s’mores by a campfire.

The Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center: The Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center is a park and museum site encompassing 122 acres of woodlands, meadows, and a large lake. Couples can choose from several outdoor sites with stunning vistas of the lake and Indian Mounds. With over 20,000 artifacts on display, the Cherokee Council House Museum serves as a unique venue for indoor weddings.

No matter what kind of wedding a blushing bride could dream up, she is certain to find it in the stunning beauty North Alabama has to offer.
