Good things come in … sevens.
At least they do for students at the University of Montevallo.
The university’s Board of Trustees announced Wednesday it voted to freeze tuition rates for the seventh year in a row. According to the school, the decision was made to ensure that it remains an affordable option for a four-year degree.
“The university family is proud to keep access to a four-year degree as affordable as we possibly can,” said Dr. John Stewart III, UM President. “We continue to prioritize reducing costs for high school graduates, community college transfers, adult learners and their families.
“In addition to freezing tuition, we’ve continued to increase funding for institutional scholarships each year to help our students continue to pursue meaningful lives and careers.”
Montevallo has also said that it is waiving the ACT/SAT score requirement for admission through this fall and offering scholarships to students based on their high school GPA. To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must have a least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
The university is also participating in Free College Application Week through Friday. During this time, high school seniors, transfer students and graduate students can apply to UM without paying an application fee.
