Mobile County Sheriff endorses Harwell in District 34 race- ‘True supporter of law enforcement’

Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch has announced his support for Republican Doug Harwell in the upcoming state Senate District 34 race.

Burch believes Harwell will be a friend and ally to law enforcement.

“I proudly endorse Doug Harwell for Alabama Senate District 34,” said Burch. “Doug is a successful businessman who brings common sense to every decision, and he’s a true supporter of law enforcement. I trust Doug to fight for the safety and protection of every citizen he represents. He’s exactly the kind of leader Mobile County needs in the Statehouse.”

Harwell, a former Mobile County School Board member, announced his candidacy in late April via social media and asked volunteers to join his campaign.

“Hey Friends!” Harwell wrote. “I’m running for Alabama State Senate, District 34. But I can’t do it alone! If you’re looking for a way to get involved and help make a difference, we’d love to have you on our volunteers team! Whether it’s helping at events, spreading the word, or just pitching in wherever needed, every little bit counts!”

The seat is currently occupied by State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Wilmer), who has announced intentions to seek a different position within the state government.
