Former Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Montgomery on October 7 to speak at Faulkner University’s annual benefit dinner.
Mike Williams, president of Faulkner University, announced the news Pence was the 2021 speaker at a press conference on Thursday morning.
“Mike Pence is a man of deep Christian faith,” said Williams at the unveiling. “He’s been an ardent advocate for liberty, and most expressly religious liberty, the guiding force of our founding fathers who forged this republic.”
“It is on this foundation of religious liberty that Faulkner stands today,” Williams added.
Previous to his selection as then-candidate Donald Trump’s running mate in 2016, Pence was governor of Indiana and before that a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Faulkner’s annual dinners date back more than four decades and have in recent years attracted very prominent names from the world of politics.
Former Trump administration U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley spoke in 2019, and high-profile former Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) spoke in 2020.
Over the last decade, around 2,000 guests have attended the dinners annually. The event in recent years has been held at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery.
A general admission ticket to the 2021 event is $150.
Sponsorship packages are available starting at $2,500 and going up to $40,000 that include photos with and special access to Pence.
