Mike Durant: Trump was ‘robbed’ of second term — ‘I don’t think Joe Biden won the election’

Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Mike Durant, who recently met with former President Donald Trump in an effort to land his highly-coveted endorsement, has of late honed in on the issue of election integrity.

During an appearance this past Friday on Alabama Public Television’s “Capitol Journal,” Durant detailed on his views surrounding the 2020 presidential election.

While speaking on the issues he would seek to address as senator, Durant advised that he would prioritize voting integrity. Durant declared that Trump had been “robbed” of a second term and that President Joe Biden did not win the election.

“Voting integrity is, if not at the top of the list, very near the top of the list. Because the things that happened in 2020 cannot happen again,” said Durant. “We were robbed of what I believe should have been President Trump’s second term and we can’t let that happen again. So, we’ve got to fix that.”

When asked by host Todd Stacy to expand on his assertion that the election was “robbed,” Durant outlined his reasoning.

“[T]he bottom line is I don’t think Joe Biden won the election,” said Durant, going on to decry states “changing the rules” as it related to mail-in voting and voting extension dates.

“When you suddenly make voting by mail easier than showing up in person, I mean that just begs for fraud,” added Durant. “I mean, you can’t deny that. That’s why most voters on both sides believe that voter ID is appropriate because we want everyone to be able to vote, but they’re supposed to be a legal citizen to vote. And if you can’t identify who’s voting or if you can’t even know that they are the ones that filled out the ballot, how can you possibly argue that that is a valid vote? So, you know, that’s the easiest one.” And in Pennsylvania they extended the due date — just all these things changing the rules to basically help Joe Biden.”

Durant pointed to the media’s suppression of the story surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop, which many claim revealed that he was attempting to leverage his father’s influence as then-vice president to benefit his overseas business dealings.

“And the final one that’s come out in the last few days is Hunter Biden’s laptop. That came out before the election,” continued Durant. “People who voted for Joe Biden, the report that I read, 17% said they would have changed their vote if they thought that whole story was real and it got buried. And now it came back to light as oh it was real, but now the election is over. All those things together I think really cheated us as a nation out of who should be in the office and is not, and we’re paying a heavy price for it.”
