The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) has announced that it has chosen someone familiar to the organization to take over its Vice President of Investor Relations post.
Meredith Drennen, who served as the organization’s director of operations from 2009-2014, is charged with growing the BBA’s investor base and overseeing the Leadership Exchange Trip.
“Investor relations is a critical component of our organization’s success,” said CEO and President Steve Ammons. “Meredith’s extensive experience and proven track record in this area make her an invaluable asset.
“We are confident that under her guidance, our investor engagement will not only strengthen but also help drive our mission forward, bringing new opportunities and growth to the Greater Birmingham Region.”
Drennen said she is looking forward to her new role.
“I’m honored for the opportunity to rejoin BBA’s team and elevate how we serve businesses across the Greater Birmingham Region,” she said. “I’m excited to dive in and design strategies that not only meet but exceed the needs of our valued investors and work together to foster a thriving business community we can all be proud of.”
Drennen had been executive director of the Homewood Chamber of Commerce since 2015. During her time, the chamber saw a 40% growth in membership and a 55% increase in renewal income in the organization.
She was named the 2023 Chamber Professional of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
The BBA is the economic development agency for the greater Birmingham region and local chamber of commerce for the city of Birmingham.
