Longleaf Recovery expands addiction care to Huntsville

Longleaf Recovery and Wellness is not only fulfilling an extraordinary deficit in recovery support for the state of Alabama– they are raising the bar on industry standards with their exceptional outpatient care, a team of compassionate, licensed clinicians and professionals, and a brand new, state-of-the-art facility.

The vision for improving how addiction and other mental health disorders are addressed throughout the industry was initially realized in July 2021 with the opening of Birmingham Recovery Center, but the demand for quality treatment services was greater than anyone realized. In order to carry Longleaf’s vision to additional locations and to provide more Alabamians with quality care and treatment, the center is proud to introduce Longleaf Recovery Huntsville, which will provide professional treatment and ongoing support for addiction and substance use disorders.

Quality Care and Treatment

Longleaf Recovery Huntsville recognizes that mental health concerns can impact anyone, regardless of age, background, or socioeconomic status. That’s why their outpatient mental health programs are designed to offer various levels of care to accommodate diverse needs. These programs include a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), medication management, and family support services. Longleaf adheres to a holistic approach to treating mental health disorders– their tailored services include symptom management, as they treat the entire individual to create the foundation for long-term change and improvement.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

From accommodations to amenities, the Huntsville location is thoughtfully planned and designed to provide clients and their families the comfort they need as they receive specialized treatment that moves them forward. “Our comfortable, warm, and inviting facility offers a peaceful space for healing to begin, but I never want people to think we’re just a pretty face,” says Colin Harris, Chief Executive Officer. “The state-of-the-art facility is backed up by a team of compassionate professionals who are able and committed to treat the entire individual and provide a pathway to sustainable recovery.”

Elevating Care in Alabama

The comprehensive approach at Longleaf Recovery Huntsville incorporates psychotherapy, medication, and support networks in order to address both addictive behaviors and underlying mental health issues. The center’s holistic approach facilitates the development of coping mechanisms, resilience, and a pathway to sustainable recovery– an approach that will provide much needed quality care to Alabamians. “Not only are we bringing more access to care in our state, but we are raising the bar of the industry as a whole,” says Harris. “We are elevating the quality of care in Alabama through offering these services, which are performed by masters level clinicians who provide the most compassionate and comprehensive treatment to meet an individual’s unique needs.”

The Longleaf Pine: A Symbol of Resilience

As the state tree of Alabama, the longleaf pine thrives through fire, and can recover to be made stronger than ever before. Just as the longleaf pine is transformed and made more resilient by fire, so too humans are transformed and made more resilient by overcoming situations that have the potential to consume them. Addiction and mental illness are certainly examples of this. “Struggle is a part of life– it is part of the human condition,” says Harris. “Addiction and mental illness are not short-term treatments, because life still shows up. Our hope is to facilitate a life-changing journey in a beautiful setting, to offer a transformative path to change and sustained support for a restored life.”
