I’ve spent most of my professional career in public service as a federal prosecutor, standing beside victims, holding criminals accountable, and working to make our communities safer.
I’ve also been a business owner, a husband, and a dad helping raise two kids.
After a lot of reflection, prayer, and conversations with family and friends, I’m announcing my candidacy for the Alabama House of Representatives, seeking to serve the people of District 48.
As a father and businessman, I am committed to strengthening and revitalizing our district and state, creating a future where our children have greater opportunities than we did. I want our communities to be thriving hubs where they can live, work, worship, and raise a family.
We must ensure Alabama’s kids can build rewarding careers right here at home. Each year, our universities attract thousands of talented students from across the nation, yet too many leave after graduation. That’s a missed opportunity to keep the best and brightest.
We need leaders with the vision and energy to plan for tomorrow, continuing to build a state where people choose to stay and others are eager to call Alabama home. Alabama deserves representatives who understand where the state is headed and are ready to work together to deliver results for the next generation.
This starts with supporting small businesses, the backbone of our community.
In Montgomery, I will focus on cutting red tape and helping to expand access to the capital and resources that small businesses need. Alabama has remarkable leaders, and as your representative, I pledge to roll up my sleeves and work alongside them to unlock the untapped potential in our district and state. By listening to and partnering with our business leaders, we can create more opportunities and ensure every dollar the state spends delivers real results for our families, schools, and businesses.
Public safety is the bedrock of strong neighborhoods, excellent schools, and thriving businesses.
As a prosecutor, I know families need to feel secure in their homes, children must be able to safely get to school, and business owners need the confidence that public safety and security provide for them to invest and grow.
We must not only prevent crime from spreading into our neighborhoods; we must also work to reduce crime in the communities around us. I’ll prioritize policies and spending resources that keep our neighborhoods safe, ensuring families and future residents never have to think twice about moving to District 48 and raising their families.
As parents raising our children in this community, Candi and I share the pride we all have in our schools and share the concerns of other families when our resources can’t keep up. Our teachers pour their hearts into supporting every student, yet low counselor ratios and crowded classrooms can leave students with diverse needs shortchanged.
Alabama’s education rankings may trail nationally, but I’ve seen firsthand the dedication of our educators and the potential of our students. We can equip our children to succeed by promoting policies that prioritize recruiting and retaining outstanding teachers, modernizing school facilities, and securing resources for students with special education, health, or behavioral needs.
District 48 is more than a place on a map. It’s our home.
Over the years, families here have built something truly special. The memories Candi and I have made raising our children and the lifelong friendships we have formed are not unique to our family but reflect the experiences of many families across our community. But we cannot take this for granted.
We owe it to the next generation to be stewards of our community for the next generation, making it safer, stronger, and better than we found it.
If elected, I will work tirelessly every day to do just that.
