LATEST in Trump-Sessions Saga: Sessions a “beleaguered AG”

In President Trump’s latest tweet storm Monday morning, he again took to criticizing Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his dealings with the investigation into Russian meddling. Trump called Sessions a “beleaguered AG” and questioned why he wasn’t “looking into Crooked Hillary’s crimes & Russia relations?”

The tweet against Sessions comes a week after Trump blasted his first public supporter in an interview with the New York Times. Again citing the errors he believes Sessions made surrounding the Russian investigation, Trump said:

“If he would have recused himself before the job, I would have said, ‘Thanks, Jeff but I’m not going to take you.’ It’s extremely unfair…and that’s a mild word.”

Despite the criticism from his boss, Sessions has shown no signs of backing down. In his response to Trump’s interview, Sessions said that he will continue to serve “as long as that is appropriate.”

Trump, the master of the 140 characters, spent the weekend criticizing members of the GOP for not supporting their president. He also targeted Chuck Schumer, who admitted that Democrats should blame themselves and not Russia for losing the 2016 election.
