Katie Britt releases ‘Alabama the Beautiful’ video highlighting state’s natural resources

Monday, the campaign of Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Katie Britt released a video highlighting Alabama’s outdoors and natural resources.

The video, titled “Alabama the Beautiful,” was shot at Selwood Farm in Talladega County. From her childhood to the present, the video outlines the role that outdoor recreation has played in Britt’s family life.

Britt, who sits on the Alabama Wildlife Federation board of directors, in a statement outlined her intentions to support the state’s outdoor recreational industry should her bid to become Alabama’s junior senator prove successful.

“God has blessed Alabama with an abundance of natural beauty and resources, and our family takes a lot of pride in everything our home state has to offer,” stated Britt. “From the Black Belt to the Wiregrass, the Shoals to Lookout Mountain, down to our sparking Gulf Coast, Alabama has something unique for everyone. In the Senate, I will continue to support the preservation of our lands and waterways for sportsmen and Alabama families to enjoy for generations to come. I want our great state to always be a place where our children and our children’s children want to live, worship, work, and raise their own families.”

The State of Alabama, rather than the federal government, should hold autonomy over its land, according to Britt.

“Alabamians are best positioned to preserve and utilize our own land, waterways and resources,” added Britt. “We don’t need the federal government telling us how to do it, and we certainly don’t need them trying to do it for us. Nearly everything the federal government touches turns into a disaster, and they need to stay out of the way and support Alabama-led efforts to ensure our state remains Alabama the Beautiful long into the future.”
