U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) FaceTimed Wednesday evening with Will Roberts, the Alabama teen whose viral cancer plea captured the state’s attention and opened the door to experimental treatment.
Britt shared a screenshot of the call on social media, thanking President Trump, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Dr. Mehmet Oz for ensuring Will has access to treatment.

Britt wrote that she was “especially grateful to Dr. Oz for visiting Will and helping to make all this happen,” sharing that Oz met with the teen in person as the family prepares for treatment in California.
Will Roberts, from Evergreen, has been battling osteosarcoma for more than a year.
His emotional video asking the public to help spread his story went viral in late April, reaching elected officials, public figures, and eventually the doctors behind DeltaRex-G, an experimental gene therapy being administered in Santa Monica, California.
The outpouring of support has also included a GoFundMe campaign that has raised more than $685,000 to help cover treatment and travel costs.
