Joseph Summers, William Bailey join forces at Minerva Defense

One of Huntsville’s very own, Minerva Defense Inc., announced the addition of Joseph Summers to the executive leadership team. Mr. Summers will serve as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.

Summers joins William “Bill” Bailey III as a founder of the company.

Summers has 27 years of experience in government and defense contracting industry. Upon returning to Alabama after spending 10 years working for Senator Jeff Sessions, Congressman Bob Riley and Senator Richard Shelby in military legislative roles, Summers has held senior executive positions in business development, strategy, and marketing.

In the last seventeen years, Summers led all growth initiatives for three local small businesses that have since been acquired, in whole or in part, by large businesses. Most recently, Summers served on the executive leadership team at Radiance Technologies as the Chief Development Officer.

“I have been blessed in my political and business careers to have experienced the full spectrum of successes, challenges, and failures. There are few things more satisfying than being able to serve and support the US Government and our men and women in uniform. I have been able to build a significant network of close colleagues and friends – the most important reason for any accomplishments I have achieved.”

President Bill Bailey said, “I could not be more excited about the adventure we have ahead of us. Joseph is a great friend and mentor. His passion for business and national defense is infectious. He is a lateral thinker who is constantly producing great ideas, bringing a proven history of leading growth and development initiatives from the front.”

“Bill and I are students in every sense of the word. We pride ourselves on being unapologetic grinders,” Summers went on to say. Minerva will be decidedly different and groundbreaking in our structure and approach. We are building a team with shared experience and vision for this journey, and we are very excited about upcoming additions to our team.”
