Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl said he’s excited about the upcoming inauguration of President Donald Trump because he believes the President-elect will fight for the American dream.
Trump will be inaugurated in front of the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2025 after successfully defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential election by 312-226 Electoral College vote.
Wahl discussed the upcoming inauguration Tuesday on FM Talk 106.5’s “The Jeff Poor Show.”
“It’s not really that America has changed. Americans have always held these core values, right? Family values, morality, freedom, but the American people still believe in the American dream. You know, these things that make America different and special across the world, and the difference is for 40 years now, the mainstream media and the socialists, bureaucrats and all the other deep state, whatever you want to call them, activists, have been working to convince us that their model is better, that that freedom is not special, that American is not exceptional, you know. And the American people believe in this new progressive agenda. And I think what happened with that bubble, or that bubble was was broken on November 5.”
Wahl said the world is already seeing the positive effects of a Trump presidency before he’s even been inaugurated.

“Justin Trudeau stepping down yesterday is a massive victory,” he argued. “It’s a massive victory for good government. Justin Trudeau has been an absolute disaster for Canada, the jailing of pastors, the persecution of Christians for assembling during COVID, whatever, wherever you want to pull out. He took Canada from being one of the most polite, respected countries in the world to being China, you know, just some of the draconian socialist policies where he literally took freedoms and liberated away from Canadian citizens. And I think so. I love the ripples we’re seeing. I think this is hopefully a wake up call to not just America, but people. Across the world that, look, freedom is still alive.”
Wahl said he really believes there’s a resurgence in America and around the world of people who believe in individual liberty.
“And I think we’re seeing the resurgence, and it gives me hope, because I think this gives us a chance to restore not just America, but also advocate freedom and the free market principles and kind of the American values for the rest of the world, as we’re saying, ‘No, we as individuals, as people, made in the image of Almighty God, we have inherent and inalienable rights,’ right? And government, government serves those rights and is bound by those rights. They’re not, they’re not all powerful, right?”
