Jeremy Oden announces bid for new term on Alabama PSC, pledges to keep regulator among America’s most conservative

Totin’ Oden is running for re-election to the Alabama Public Service Commission in 2026.

Commissioner Jeremy Oden, who has held the Place 1 spot on the PSC since 2012, announced today that he looks forward to continuing his record of accomplishments on behalf of the people of Alabama.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the Great State of Alabama on the Public Service Commission,” Oden said.

“In my time as a Commissioner, Alabama’s PSC has been recognized as the one of most conservative public utility regulatory commission in America. I am very proud of that, and I will work diligently every day to ensure our conservative PSC maintains that distinction. I will be a candidate for re-election as Public Service Commissioner, Place 1 because I truly believe that I am the best qualified candidate for this job.”

A lifelong conservative and fixture of the Alabama Republican Party, Oden is a former State Representative for his home district in Cullman, Blount and Morgan Counties, and served previously as state co-chair for President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign in 2020. me. I am one of you. And I have a record I am proud of – a conservative, pro-agriculture record that I have defended against one of the most liberal federal intrusions of our history,” he writes.

Under the PSC’s oversight in recent years, Alabama customers have seen pocketbook and reliability gains.

Commissioner Oden is also a nationally recognized expert in public utility regulation.

He has been selected for several positions of national leadership in energy policy. He has served as the President of the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (SEARUC); as a Board Member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC); as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Clean Coal and Carbon Management NARUC; Chair of the Department of Energy (DOE) fossil fuel partnership NARUC, as Trump Appointment to National Coal Council, and as a Member of the Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition.

He is a national spokesman all over the country as expert in utility regulation and utility policy.

Jeremy Oden is married to Samantha and have a daughter, a God Daughter and God-Grand Daughter.  He and his family resides in the Vinemont/Eva area in Cullman County, where his family has lived for generations as farmers and small business owners.

The Alabama Republican Party primary election will be held on May 19, 2026.
