State Rep. James Lomax (R-Huntsville) won reelection in Alabama House District 20 against Democratic nominee James Linderholm.
According to unofficial election-night results from the Alabama Secretary of State, Lomax received 57% of the vote compared to 42% for Linderholm.
Lomax has represented the district since 2022 and now serves as the Alabama House Majority Whip.
Before the general election, Lomax fought a tough primary battle against former U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville), but was able to secure the nomination with 60.7% of the vote.
Earlier this year, Lomax filed legislation that would allow Alabama workers to deduct up to $1,000 in overtime pay from their state income taxes.
