Jacksonville State University expands Gamecock Radio Network, adds six new stations

The Jacksonville State Gamecocks official radio network for athletics is beginning to see some serious growth with the school officially announcing that it has added six new stations across the state of Alabama to its network.

The newest affiliate stations include 1380 AM and 107.1 FM in Arab, Alabama, 1570 AM, 95.3 FM, and 94.7 FM in Oneonta and 97.7 FM in Winfield. Gamecock Radio Network now brings coverage of Jacksonville State athletics to 11 stations across eight cities in the state.

“This is the largest number of affiliates we have ever had, and we hope to keep growing,” said new Assistant Athletic Director, and Director of Broadcasting Bill “Bubba” Bussey of Rick and Bubba fame. Bussey praised the personalities of the network that really make the magic happen.

“Mike Parris and Ray Hammett do a great job and really put you in the action. They are fun to listen to on the radio, and they do as good a job as anyone in the country. We are lucky to have them,” he said, adding that the school anticipates even further expansion. “Jax State is growing, Jax State Athletics is growing and we want to continue to grow the radio footprint.  We will be introducing more partnership opportunities this spring and looking forward to bringing on more stations”
