In wake of Hamas attack, Britt criticizes Biden administration Iran policy

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt slammed the Biden Administration’s Iran policy, pointing to reports that show Hamas did not act alone in its attacks Saturday in Israel.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Iran’s Revolutionary Guard helped plan and organize the attack by Hamas. The report claims the final details of the attack were hashed out in a meeting between Hamas leaders and Iranian military leadership at a conference Oct. 2.

Britt (R-Montgomery) shared the story on Twitter.

“While President Biden was agreeing to a $6 billion ransom and allowing Iran’s president to enter our country, the Iranian regime was plotting terrorist attacks that killed innocent children, women, and men — including American citizens. Appeasement invites aggression,” Britt said.

Britt sent letters to the Biden Administration three times urging the White House to not free up the $6 billion in frozen oil revenue to facilitate a prisoner exchange between Iran and the United States.

Iran had arrested five Americans over the past several years. To get their freedom, Secretary of State Antony Blinken authorized the release of the oil revenue to a bank in Oman and the U.S. granted clemency to five Iranians.
