Huntsville adds nonstop direct flights to New York City

Officials announced today Delta will begin a nonstop route from Huntsville International Airport to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport next year.

“We’re proud to bring nonstop service between Huntsville and New York City in 2025, making Delta the only carrier to offer a direct connection to New York City from Huntsville,” said David Hart, Delta’s managing director-network planning. “This service demonstrates our commitment to connecting Huntsville to more destinations, offering customers greater convenience and choice, whether they are flying for business or leisure.”

The service to New York City begins April 14 and will operate once daily in both directions, according to a news release. Passengers will fly on Bombardier CRJ-900 equipment with 76 seats including first class.

“New York City has been a top unserved market for our community, and we are excited Delta Air Lines recognizes the opportunity for our business and leisure travelers,” said Mayor Tommy Battle. “Having received numerous requests for this service for many years, we expect the community will take full advantage of these non-stop flights to the Big Apple.”

Delta currently flies daily non-stop routes to Atlanta and Detroit.

“This new non-stop service from Huntsville to New York City connects our community to the nation’s largest metro”, said Port of Huntsville Board Chair Trey Bentley. “Our customers desire nonstop service to major destinations to enable them the convenience of doing business in a day if needed.

“We continue to strive to add new markets and provide travel options for our customers.”

There are approximately 80 scheduled Delta departures every week from Huntsville.

“We appreciate the investment Delta continues to make in serving HSV with daily service to Atlanta, Detroit and now New York City,” said Airport CEO Butch Roberts. “Air service is an integral part of our community’s infrastructure, and we recognize that this new service is vital to our region and to our ability to serve our customers with non-stop flights to desirable locations.”
