At the May 2026 Huntingdon College Board of Trustees meeting, six new trustees were elected to serve three-year terms of service — Charles Carlton, Jakob Dwyer’10, John Mazyck, Stacia Robinson, Jess Skaggs’13, and Pat Taylor White’82. In addition to the new members, two current members were recognized for their long-standing service with emeritus roles — Dave Borden and Ken Upchurch.
Charles Carlton is a financial advisor with Gambrell Financial Advisors in Birmingham, Alabama. with designation as a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Fund Specialist. He is an alumnus of Birmingham Southern College and the University of Alabama School of Law.
Jakob Dwyer ’10 is the CEO of Awayday, a national vacation rental platform. He and his family reside in Niceville, Florida. At Huntingdon, he was a four-year member of the Hawks football team and majored in accounting.
John Mazyck, of Montgomery, is an investment banker with Frazer Lanier. John is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and received his master’s degree from Auburn University at Montgomery. He has served as the Chairman of the Business Council of Alabama and the Montgomery Area Committee of 100.
Stacia Robinson is a Denver, Colorado native currently serving in the cabinet of Alabama Governor Kay Ivey as the Director of the Alabama Office of Civic Engagement. A Spelman College graduate, she is also a retired Air Force Captain and active member of the Montgomery community. She is the immediate past chairman of the board of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce.
Jess Skaggs ’13 is a political strategist and public affairs professional currently serving as the Chief of Staff to the President Pro Tem of the Alabama State Senate Garlan Grudger. At Huntingdon, Jess was a member of the Hawks baseball team and majored in history.
Pat Taylor White ’82 is a retired business owner residing in Dothan, Alabama. While at Huntingdon, Pat was a member of the women’s tennis team and was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She has continued her support for Huntingdon as an active member of the College’s Alumni Board.
Two current members were honored with Trustee Emeritus status:
Dave Borden has shared over two decades of dedication to Huntingdon College on the Board of Trusteesbeginning in 2005, including four years as the Board Chairman from 2015-2019. Mr. Borden is the retired Chairman of the Board of Aldridge, Borden, and Company, P.C. in Montgomery, Alabama.
Ken Upchurch is the chairman and CEO of W.K. Upchurch Construction Co., Inc. in Montgomery, Alabama. He has shared his talents and time to the Board of Trustees since 2003 and as the Board Chairman from 2005-2009.
