Huntsville-based Hometown Lenders (HTL) has announced their second Back the Blue charity event.
HTL CEO Billy Taylor originally launched this night of appreciation to honor America’s hardworking law enforcement officers and the sacrifices they make to keep our cities safe and secure.
“It is time for our country to support our police departments, not work to defund them. Members of the law enforcement are on the front lines, and these brave men and women deserve to be defended,” Taylor said in a statement.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall will be the featured speaker at this year’s Back the Blue, to be held August 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Toyota Field in Madison.
As attorney general, Marshall has embraced his role as the state’s chief law enforcement officer and has committed to making Alabama a safer place to live. In 2018, Marshall launched the Initiative on Violent Crime with the mission to “help cities reclaim their streets, restore the rule of law, and . . . see their communities revived.” Since its launch, the initiative has resulted in the arrests of hundreds of violent offenders.
Taylor and Back the Blue invite the public to join in honoring and celebrating local law enforcement for their work protecting our citizens. It is free to attend, but guests are asked to reserve their tickets online here.
