As Breeze Airways brings the West Coast to the east, north and south Alabama are playing a major role.
The carrier announced Tuesday it is adding a non-stop flight to Los Angeles from Huntsville International Airport beginning June 14. Breeze also said passengers will fly on new Mobile-made Airbus A220s built for Breeze.
It will also be the only nonstop flights from the Yellowhammer State to the City of Angels.
“This new nonstop service from Huntsville to Los Angeles is an excellent indicator of how well Breeze is doing in the Huntsville community,” said Trey Bentley, Board Chair of the Port of Huntsville. “The addition of HSV to LAX shows the dedication Breeze has to serve our market, and they recognize the success they are enjoying here.

“Breeze Airways is giving our customers what they’ve been asking for: nonstop air service to desirable leisure destinations at an affordable cost.”
Breeze chose Huntsville as one of its first cities to begin service when it launched in May 2021. The carrier flies nonstop from Huntsville to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa. The new route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, and fares will start at $129 one-way.
“We’re glad when east meets west, and even more so when the route is a direct connection to Huntsville,” said Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle. “The Rocket City does a lot of business in Los Angeles, and it’s a great area for leisure travel, too.
“Thanks to Breeze Airways for continuing to invest in Huntsville.”
In celebration of Breeze’s announcement of adding 10 Airbus A220 aircraft to its fleet, Breeze is offering 20% off all roundtrip base fares. Guests may use the code “A220” at checkout on the Breeze app or at flybreeze.com for fares purchased by 1:59 a.m. CT on Feb. 22. Discounts are for base fares on travel from March 6 through Sept. 3.
Breeze flies to 49 cities across the United States.
With the desire for additional routes evidenced by the record-breaking passenger traffic at Huntsville International Airport in 2023, Breeze Airways leadership said it expects the Los Angeles route to do well in the North Alabama and South Central Tennessee market.
“We expect this summer service to be as popular as our flights to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa from HSV,” said Breeze CEO Tom Doxey.
