Governor Ivey declares July 13 ‘Sweet Grown Alabama Day’

Governor Kay Ivey issued a proclamation declaring this upcoming Saturday July 13, 2024 as “Sweet Grown Alabama Day” to celebrate Alabama producers, retailers, farmers and consumers.

Sweet Grown Alabama enhances marketing opportunities for Alabama farmers by connecting retailers and consumers to Alabama grown foods and other agricultural products.

Their database makes it easier for consumers who are looking for specific and Alabama grown products to connect with local farmers and find what they are looking for.

“Sweet Grown Alabama Day means showing love to Alabama farmers, and we want to invite you to join us on Saturday, July 13 to celebrate all things local. Participating is as simple as supporting an Alabama farmer. We encourage you to make a purchase from your local farmer, cook a meal made with local ingredients, pick Alabama grown flowers, eat at a restaurant that serves locally grown products, visit a local farmers market or otherwise support local Saturday!” the announcement on the website states.

You can share photos of your experiences on Sweet Grown Alabama Day by tagging the organization on their various social media channels where they will be sharing tagged content throughout the day.
