Gov. Kay Ivey receives Lifetime Achievement Award at ALGOP Summer Dinner

As many members of the Alabama Republican Party gathered for their annual Summer Dinner in Montgomery, Gov. Kay Ivey was honored for her service in leading the state for nearly a decade.

Ivey received the ALGOP’s Lifetime Achievement Award Friday for serving as the state’s 54th Governor since 2017.

“I was honored to receive @ALGOP’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Serving the people of Alabama remains the highest honor of my life,” Ivey said on X. “We’ve built incredible momentum for our state, protected Alabama values and maintained that good, ‘ole common sense. Our work continues!”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is currently the frontrunner to succeed Ivey in 2027, as he won the Republican nomination for the position earlier this year in the primary.

The senator was one of the headline speakers at the event, taking the time to encourage people to show up and vote in November.

“I need your support to get back here, and in 95 days, get enough votes to be your next governor,” Tuberville said.

“Why is that important? I got 85% of the vote in the primary. First of all, we didn’t have enough people vote,” he said. “There’s a lot of people out there that just want to live their lives. They don’t want to worry about politics. They couldn’t care less, and I’m right there with them. [I] don’t care. But I’m on the other side now. I’m on the side that really understands that we need people that want to make sure that we save this state and this country. We need to vote.”

It was great to be with so many patriots on Friday night at @ALGOP.
