GOP congressional delegation condemns ‘Bidenomics’

Members of Alabama’s congressional delegation are blasting President Joe Biden’s economic policies as the White House tries to convince the American people the economy is in good shape.

This week, Biden gave a speech promoting what his administration calls “Bidenomics,” saying his policies have been good for the country.

“Bidenomics is working,” Biden said Wednesday in Chicago. “When I took office, the pandemic was raging and our economy was reeling, supply chains were broken, millions of people unemployed, hundreds of thousands of small businesses on the verge of closing after so many had already closed — literally, hundreds of thousands on the verge of closing.

“Today, the U.S. has had the highest economic growth rate, leading the world economies since the pandemic. The highest in the world.”

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt disagreed with the president and blamed him for growing inflation.

“With all due respect Mr. President,” Britt (R-Montgomery) tweeted. “Bidenomics means that hardworking Alabamians are paying $741 more every month just so they can make ends meet.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville also criticized Biden’s record and pointed to his disapproval numbers when it comes his handling of the economic.

“Bidenomics: 2/3 disapproval on the economy,” Tuberville (R-Auburn) tweeted. “3/4 say we’re on the wrong track. $8T more debt and 15% inflation. C’mon, man.”

U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl said on “Fox Business” this week the president won’t be able to sell his economic plan to the majority of the country.

“I do not think that the Biden economics is going to be his winning message if he continues running for president, which I still doubt that,” Carl (R-Mobile) said. “You know, they’re going to really push the abortion issue, they’re going to push the trans issues, they’re going to push these social issues. I can’t point to anything economic-wise that Biden can take credit for. So much of what we’ve seen in the early day has been a carry-over from Trump’s policies, which is fantastic, [Biden] has taken credit for that. But now, [Biden] is wanting you to look past where the real problems are.”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) believes Biden’s policies are strangling small businesses across the nation.
