‘Golden era is coming back’: Aderholt expresses renewed hope for America with Trump in White House

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) is feeling a renewed sense of faith in the future of the United States following the swearing-in of President Donald Trump.

In a video message on Monday, the longtime congressman proclaimed that the “Golden Era” is returning to America with Trump back in the White House.

“The sun is out here in Washington, D.C. and I think it’s indicative of a new day in America with Donald Trump now as commander in chief,” said Aderholt. “There’s been so much excitement here in Washington. I just left and walked over from the Capitol just a few minutes ago to see the swearing-in. It was a tremendous crowd. He was warmly welcomed. We’re just very excited about the executive orders that he is signing. And, of course, starting to move on legislation.”

“So, again, it’s a great day for America, and we look forward to many great days to come. As the president says, the Golden Era is coming back to the United States of America.”

Aderholt also said Monday that many Americans will now be at peace with their leadership in Washington.

“The United States of America has not had the respect that we’ve really needed. And we are militarily and economically number one around the world. I think it’s important that we stand strong for democracy. I think people feel better that now with Donald Trump in that role, that will definitely be the case.”

Aderholt hosted approximately 150 people for an inauguration watch party in his Washington D.C. office on Monday. The Congressman also made sure that several other Alabama officials from across his district had an indoor viewing option after the swearing-in ceremony was moved indoors due to frigid temperatures.
