Alabama’s recreational options are about to increase.

The Geneva County and Walker County public fishing lakes will be reopening Wednesday. The lakes were closed until new lake managers were named.

They have bait, fishing tackle and snacks available for purchase.

A valid fishing license and a daily $3 fishing permit is required to be admitted to both locations.

The Geneva County Public Lake is at 2308 County Road 63 in Coffee Springs.

The Walker County facility is at 4227 Walker County Lake Road in Jasper.
