Four people were killed in a late-night Pike County crash after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Authorities identified the driver as 27-year-old Tykevious D. Russaw of Eufaula. The passengers were 27-year-old Robert D. Hall and 24-year-old Quamay Richardson, both of Clayton. A 17-year-old passenger was also killed but has not been publicly identified.
All four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to ALEA, the vehicle—a 2022 Hyundai Elantra—was being pursued by a state trooper with the Highway Patrol Division at the time of the crash. Officials said the driver was attempting to elude law enforcement on a rural roadway, resulting in the Pike County crash.
The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. No other vehicles were involved.
ALEA reported that the driver and two passengers, including the juvenile, were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle. The fourth occupant was not ejected.
The Pike County crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details, including what prompted the pursuit.
