Former State Sen. Bryan Taylor (R-Prattville), who was most recently Governor Kay Ivey’s general counsel, is rejoining the law firm of Bachus, Brom & Taylor that he cofounded in 2013.
Taylor left the governor’s office in fall 2019 to support his wife Jessica’s candidacy for Alabama’s Second Congressional District.
Known in Montgomery for being one of the primary authors of the state’s 2010 ethics reform bill, Taylor will be leading his firm’s Montgomery office with a specialization in political law.
The firm has offices in Birmingham and Montgomery.
Taylor piqued the interest of Alabama political observers last year when he qualified to challenge incumbent Justice Greg Shaw for a seat on the Alabama Supreme Court.
The former state senator withdrew from the race before launching a full-fledged campaign, citing his desire to support his wife’s then-ongoing congressional campaign.
His wife, Jessica Taylor, placed third in the March 3 Republican primary for AL-02 and has since returned to her business, Azimuth, that provides consulting services for those seeking grants.
The firm says Bryan Taylor’s clients will include “businesses and nonprofits, elected officials, candidates, political committees, trade and membership associations, and state and local government entities.”
