A familiar face in Tuscaloosa is going to be staying in the SEC and playing for a rival of the Alabama Crimson Tide this season.
Former Tide forward Mouhamed Dioubate — who left Alabama after two seasons and went to Kentucky — entered the transfer portal once again this offseason, and this time, he ended up in Baton Rouge to play for the LSU Tigers.
Dioubate is the first transfer portal commitment for Will Wade after his wild hiring back at LSU this offseason — just a half decade after he was let go for NCAA violations.
At Kentucky, he averaged a career-high 8.8 points and also added 5.5 rebounds per game.
His final year at Alabama, that total was 7.2 points per game and 5.9 rebounds, but he helped Alabama go to back-to-back Elite Eights, including playing some of the best basketball in his career to help the program advance to its first ever Final Four back in 2024.
Alabama fans will surely continue to follow Dioubate’s career closely, especially with him trying to revitalize an LSU brand that has been one of the worst in the SEC since Wade was dismissed.
