Paul Finebaum has once again publicly declared his lack of belief in Kalen DeBoer after an offseason of repeatedly criticizing the Crimson Tide head coach.

Finebaum was playing a game of Buy and Sell during a recent appearance with On3 ‘s “Crain and Cone,” and when he was asked if he would buy or sell DeBoer winning a national title, he sold with a damning explanation.

“Alabama is unique and in the last 60 years only three people have won national championships at Alabama, two of them happened to be the greatest coach of all time on the day they retired,” Finebaum said. “At Alabama, you can be unique and you can be different, but Kalen DeBoer doesn’t have the right ingredients to win it there.”

Interestingly, Finebaum said he believes DeBoer could win it elsewhere, such as the Michigan stop he was rumored to be interested in this past cycle, but that he would never be able to get it done at Alabama.

“Fit is really important…but DeBoer is trying to squeeze himself into a hole he does not fit into,” Finebaum said.

Whether or not he is correct remains to be seen, but Finebaum has been fairly consistent in his belief that DeBoer is not going to get it done during his time in Tuscaloosa, however long that may last.

DeBoer would be the first to tell you that the program is not concerned about outside noise, however, this is undeniably a huge year for him in terms of support from the fanbase and seeing what this program is capable of under his watch.
