Christian evangelical leader Scott Dawson endorsed U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) in the Republican Senate runoff, citing Moore’s experience and effectiveness in Congress.
“I’m voting Barry Moore for several reasons,” Scott Dawson wrote on Facebook. “First, he has the experience. We need someone that can begin work on day 1 for the great state of Alabama. Second, he has proven himself effective. He has already done the work to prove he knows what to do and how to vote. Third, I’ve known he and Heather for a decade and they have been dear friends to Tarra and myself.”
“He has the network inside our state to begin to make the changes we all want to see with transparent government, less waste, and protecting our borders. Not to mention that he will be a champion for family values and to provide a platform for churches and Christians to remain active in America. I’m not against Jared, just for Barry in this election. Jared has a bright future ahead for sure.”
Dawson founded the Scott Dawson Evangelical Association and the Strength to Stand Conference, which hosts annual events featuring Christian artists and speakers. Dawson also endorsed Secretary of State Wes Allen in the lieutenant governor runoff.
Moore carries President Trump’s endorsement and faces former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson in the Republican Senate runoff on June 16.
