The Economic Development Association of Alabama has named Robin Ricks as its new executive director, effective January 20, according to an announcement released Monday.
Ricks brings a background in organizational leadership, legislative initiatives, workforce development, and economic development advocacy as she steps into the role. The association represents economic development professionals across Alabama and works to promote growth and investment statewide.
“Robin’s leadership, strategic vision, and understanding of economic development makes her an exceptional choice to lead our association,” said Jamie Troutman, president of EDAA. “We are confident Robin will strengthen EDAA’s mission, expand member engagement, and further elevate Alabama’s economic development efforts.”
As executive director, Ricks will oversee the association’s daily operations, strategic planning, professional development programs, and partnerships with public- and private-sector stakeholders. She will also work with EDAA’s board to advance advocacy efforts and expand the organization’s statewide impact.
“It is an honor to serve as Executive Director of EDAA,” said Ricks. “EDAA plays an important role in supporting the professionals who help move Alabama forward, and I’m excited to work alongside the Board, our members, and partners to build on the association’s strong foundation and continue expanding economic opportunity across the state.”
Ricks most recently served as vice president of policy and advocacy at Manufacture Alabama. Her background also includes experience in industry, legislative affairs, and workforce development.
