Durant U.S. Senate campaign announces $4M cash-on-hand, rolls out pro-life TV ad

Tuesday, the campaign of Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Mike Durant announced that its first quarter Federal Election Commission (FEC) campaign finance report would show that the candidate holds $4 million cash-on-hand.

The U.S. Army veteran’s current cash balance nearly doubles that reported in his previous quarterly filing, which totaled $2.5 million. FEC quarterly reports will be made publicly available on April 15.

Additionally, the Durant campaign released its latest television advertisement for the 2022 GOP primary election cycle.

The 30-second spot, titled “Life,” outlines the brutality Durant faced during the “Black Hawk Down” incident while on mission in Somalia. The ad also details the candidate’s position on abortion, saying that he would “fight to overturn” Roe. v. Wade as a member of the U.S. Senate.

“They nearly beat him to death, crushed his face, broke his back, shot him,” says the ad narrator. “On a dark day for America, Mike Durant was saved by his brothers, his life spared by the grace of God. He believes the unborn deserve the same. Mike Durant will fight to overturn Roe versus Wade, defend the right to family, faith, and the most precious: life. The innocent need protectors. We need Mike Durant.”
