Derek Chen launches second ad in State Auditor race
Republican candidate for State Auditor Derek Chen’s campaign announced the launch of a second campaign ad ahead of the May 19 Republican primary.
The 30-second ad, titled “Waste Cutter,” began running Tuesday, May 5, in targeted markets across the state.
The spot focuses on Chen’s commitment to cutting waste, uncovering fraud, and holding government accountable. It builds on his first ad, “One of Us,” which introduced the Vestavia Hills attorney to voters across Alabama.
The ad also highlights Chen’s support for President Trump and his America First agenda, along with his plan to work with Alabama’s next governor, Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).
“We heard from a lot of people after our first ad who are fed up with how things are done in Montgomery,” said Chen. “They want someone who will actually do the job. As State Auditor, I’ll follow the money, call out waste when I see it, and make sure your tax dollars are being handled the way they should be.”
Chen received his undergraduate degree from Hope College, his law degree from Cumberland School of Law, and an MBA from the University of Alabama. He has practiced law in Jefferson County and has been a steadfast supporter of President Trump and his America First agenda.
Chen is the son of legal immigrants from Taiwan who fled the threat of Communist China. He credits his family’s story with shaping his belief in freedom, accountability, and responsible government.
