Alabama losing a game inexplicably to the Vanderbilt Commodores just four games into the Kalen DeBoer era last week certainly put the Crimson Tide fanbase into a tailspin.
While only the craziest of the crazies called for DeBoer to be fired, obviously there was not a single fan happy with the result. But what DeBoer probably didn’t expect however was a controversy and split fanbase on what he wore during the game.
Sporting a casual looking t-shirt in Nashville, many argued that DeBoer should have more decorum as the head coach of such a storied program. Nobody is screaming at him to put a tie on, but anyone who was unhappy with his wardrobe choices probably would have been satisfied with a polo.
Through all the noise this week, word has gotten back to DeBoer that some fans were less than thrilled with his t-shirt, he revealed on his ‘Hey Coach’ radio show:
Kalen DeBoer said word has got to him about Alabama fans' displeasure with him wearing a t-shirt against Vanderbilt.

DeBoer did not address it strongly after multiple callers brought up the issue and supported whatever he wants to wear, but he did acknowledge that he’s heard the noise. Now that we know he is aware of what some fans think, seeing if he changes his style at all this Saturday afternoon against South Carolina will be fascinating to see.
