DeBoer ahead of CFP matchup: ‘We’ve been working all season long for this moment’

The Alabama Crimson Tide is playing in its biggest game of the last two years on Friday night. They’ll face the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman for the first round of the College Football Playoff.

The Tide has lost to the Sooners the last two times they’ve played under Kalen DeBoer, including last year’s season ender. This time, the pressure is on to reverse the trend and defeat Oklahoma, effectively earning them a trip to the Rose Bowl.

During this week’s edition of “Hey Coach,” DeBoer gave his final word on the matchup and tried to fire up both his team and the fans, revealing how everything has led up to this moment.

“It’s playoff time and we’ve been working all season long for this moment,” DeBoer said. “A long road ahead hopefully, but we’re just focused on what’s ahead this week. We’re looking forward to a great challenge against a good football team and I’m proud of the guys and what they’ve been doing early in the week to get ready to play.”

When the ball kicks off on Friday night, many are going to be doubting Alabama’s ability to win it given how they’ve looked over the last month or so.

If DeBoer and this team have one last trick up their sleeve though, it should be a tremendous game in Norman.
