North Alabama’s significant manufacturing capabilities are about to surge once again thanks to a multi-million-dollar investment from Cincinnati-based GE Aerospace.
According to Congressman Dale Strong, GE Aerospace is investing $22 million in the Huntsville area with the purchase of several new machines. The company says the technology is needed to increase its production of materials used in ceramic matrix composite aircraft engine parts.
“That is proof that President Trump’s economic policies are revitalizing American manufacturing,” said Strong (R-Huntsville) of the company’s decision. “Thanks to the Trump Administration, the United States will lead the next generation of innovative manufacturing and production of crucial supply chain materials.
“I support the President’s pro-growth agenda of cutting taxes, slashing regulation, implementing fair trade practices, and putting the American worker first. Our job creators know they have an ally in the White House.”

The lawmaker emphasized that the skill and talent found in his home district are unparalleled.
“The Tennessee Valley’s workforce is second to none, and I am proud that GE Aerospace recognizes the dedication of our local talent. I look forward to partnering with GE Aerospace for years to come and am excited to see their continued expansion right here at home,” Strong said. “As I often say, there is no better place to do business and create high-paying jobs than in North Alabama.”
The investment in north Alabama is part of GE Aerospace’s larger plans to invest nearly $1 billion in its U.S. factories and supply chain. For H. Lawrence Culp, Jr., Chairman and CEO of GE Aerospace, the investments are intended to help keep the U.S. at the “forefront of aerospace leadership.”
“Investing in manufacturing and innovation is more critical than ever for the future of our industry and the communities where we operate,” said Culp. “We are committed to helping our customers modernize and expand their fleets while scaling technologies that will truly define the future of flight.”
Engines made by GE Aerospace and its joint venture partners power three out of every four commercial flights around the world and two of three U.S. military combat and helicopter aircraft.
