TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — According to Alabama state troopers, an 18-wheeler accident that shut down I-20/59 last Sunday night and Monday morning was caused by the truck driver pulling out his tooth.

According to WSFA, the driver went off I-20/59 northbound near exit 79, into a ditch and hit a tree around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25.

The driver was not injured in the crash, but he did have evidence of why he crashed.

According to the crash report, “The driver stated he lost control when he was pulling a tooth with his hands. He had the tooth in his shirt pocket as proof.”

No other vehicles were involved, but the accident shut down I-20/59 northbound between exits 76 and 79 until 9am Monday morning.

That’s one expensive dental extraction!
