Clay Travis on Harris’ DNC speech: ‘Not one mention of economy, pocket book issues’

Kamala Harris is now officially the Democratic nominee for the 2024 Presidential election.

In her customary acceptance speech, Harris touched on the traditional Democrat talking points of social security, medicare, abortion, and voting rights.

One topic, however, she did not speak about in detail was economic policy, a hot-button issue for most Americans across the country regardless of their political affiliation. The decision to not address mortgage rates, costs of goods, and wages not keeping up with prices left many viewers and potential voters frustrated.

Founder of Outkick News and radio personality, Clay Travis, was part of that group. After Harris’ remarks concluded, he posted about his disappointment on X.

In July, Travis labeled Harris a “backup quarterback” after President Joe Biden announced he would no longer be in the running.

“Joe Biden is knocked out of the game,” said Travis. “For those of you out there who love watching football, the backup quarterback comes in, and he’s got usually a higher ceiling because he’s healthy, but he’s got a lower floor, too, because there’s a reason he’s the backup. Kamla ran for president in 2020 and dropped out before a single vote was cast because Democrats overwhelmingly rejected her, remember that.”
