Caroline Franklin named communications director for Alabama Senate majority leader

Alabama Senate Majority Leader Clay Scofield (R-Guntersville) on Tuesday announced that he has hired Caroline Franklin to serve as his communications director.

Franklin, a Montgomery native, most recently served as communications director to then-U.S. Rep. Martha Roby (AL-02) in her Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to her work with Roby, Franklin served on the Capitol Hill staff of U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL).

Before graduating from the University of Alabama, she also interned in the D.C. office of then-U.S. Senator Luther Strange (R-AL), as well as for Roby. Franklin is an alumna of The Montgomery Academy.

“Caroline has gained a considerable amount of experience and has developed valuable relationships over the past few years serving on the staffs of three different members of the Alabama delegation in Washington,” stated Scofield. “Her skillsets and experience will be beneficial as we work to get results for the people of Alabama. I am excited to have her on our team.”

William Heartsill was recently hired to serve as communications director to Senate Pro Tem Greg Reed (R-Jasper).
