Republican candidate for Alabama’s newly redrawn 2nd congressional district, Caroleene Dobson, toured the U.S./Mexico border in El Paso, Texas Thursday. While there she had the opportunity to participate in a ride-along with officers to see the chaos and disorder in the area firsthand.
Dobson, who has made fighting illegal immigration a core tenant of her campaign, joined Fox and Friends this morning to discuss the issue and her visit.
The first topic touched on was an incident in California this week that saw illegal immigrants attempt to hijack school buses full of children. Dobson said her opponent, Shomari Figures, will only contribute to the rapidly-worsening situation if elected to Congress.

“I mean, these situations are terrifying, and we have felt the impacts in Alabama’s second congressional district of the open border policies of the Biden-Harris administration,” said Dobson. “It’s no surprise that my opponent is trying to deny that this is a problem because he was part of that administration. He was part of Biden’s transition team. He helped put in place policies that have harmed our economy, that have endangered our citizens.”
Today, I met with border patrol agents and local law enforcement in El Paso & San Elizario to get the facts.

The Republican detailed the rise in crime due to the lack of border security noting that it’s now affecting her district.
“You can talk to anyone in the district, parents, grandparents, law enforcement officers, city officials, business leaders. We’re all concerned about the impacts of the open border policy. There’s certainly a rise in crime. A 19-year-old in the district was killed earlier this year because of an illegal alien who had not only illegally come here, but then had been apprehended for a DUI and then released about three years ago. Additionally, 1300 Alabamians died of fentanyl overdoses just last year, much of it manufactured in China and ushered across the border due to the open border policies of the Biden Harris figures administration.”

She joined Fox & Friends on Friday morning to talk more about a trip that politicians trying to run from the situation refuse to make:
Dobson said Figures “is trying to deny this is a problem because he was part of the admin,” and that Kamala Harris is engaging in “textbook plausible deniability.”
“But the people of Alabama and the people of America can see right through it because they know this is a huge problem. And that’s why I came here to El Paso, to witness the problem on the ground.”
According to the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, the Customs and Border Protection agency has recorded more than 10 million encounters with illegal immigrants under the Biden/Harris administration along with more than two million known “gotaways” who entered the country illegally and escaped apprehension.
The committee also reported that the Department of Homeland Security had “identified more than 400 individuals who crossed into the United States illegally with the help of an ISIS affiliated human smuggling network. The whereabouts of more than 50 of these individuals remain unknown.”
In addition, a report by DHS noted that more than 80% of illegal immigrants who are not expelled by CBP or detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents remain undocumented and untracked residents in the U.S. years after gaining illegal entry.
