Carnival Cruise Line is bringing year-round cruises back to Mobile, announcing that Carnival Valor will homeport in the Gulf Coast city beginning in May 2027.
The deployment marks the first time a ship of the Conquest class will operate from Mobile, expanding cruise capacity and vacation options for Alabama travelers. Carnival Valor will begin offering six- to eight-day sailings to The Bahamas, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key starting May 15, 2027, following its final sailings from New Orleans earlier that month.
“Mobile has been an important part of the Carnival family, and we’re thrilled to mark the return of year-round deployment with our first-ever Conquest-class ship serving the market,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “This is a big win for our guests who love the convenience of cruising close to home, and for the community that has supported us for many years. Carnival Valor will bring even more opportunity for fun, and we can’t wait to welcome our guests aboard.”
Carnival Valor offers guests a dynamic onboard experience with multiple dining options, live entertainment, and activities designed for all ages. Travelers can enjoy water slides, spa treatments, and vibrant entertainment venues, creating a mix of excitement and relaxation for families, couples, and solo cruisers alike.
The ship’s schedule will include two 14-day Carnival Journeys voyages — one sailing Sept. 26 to ports across the Caribbean and Panama, and another on Jan. 16 for a Southern Caribbean route. A special seven-day Thanksgiving sailing will also depart Nov. 20, 2027.
Until Carnival Valor arrives, Carnival will continue seasonal sailings from Mobile with Carnival Spirit between October 2026 and April 2027.
Carnival Glory will continue to operate out of Port Canaveral, while Carnival Conquest will sail from Miami. Both ships will offer itineraries to The Bahamas and Caribbean.
Carnival Cruise Line, part of Carnival Corporation & plc, has carried more than 100 million guests since its founding in 1972 and currently operates 29 ships from multiple U.S. and international homeports.
