MONTGOMERY—The board of directors of the Business Council of Alabama has endorsed U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner in the race for Alabama’s First Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Jo Bonner has been a great friend to the business community and continues to be a strong advocate for private sector job growth,” said Terry Kellogg, chairman of the BCA board of directors and president and CEO of BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama. “His leadership and work ethic in Alabama and Washington D.C. is why our board enthusiastically chose to endorse him.”
Bonner was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002 after having served as both press secretary and chief of staff to his predecessor, former U.S. Rep. Sonny Callahan. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee as well as Chairman of the House Ethics Committee. Bonner has also been presented with the prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce every year he has been in Congress. The award recognizes members of Congress who consistently support pro-business legislation.
The Business Council of Alabama is Alabama’s foremost voice for business.
