Bruce Pearl says the media, U.S. Justice Department, others are ‘complicit’ in political violence against Trump

An attempted assassination on Former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania rocked the nation on Saturday afternoon. Early Sunday morning, Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl, who has never been shy about making his political opinions known, addressed the situation on social media:

“Thank God President Trump survived this assassination attempt. His courageous reaction moments after getting shot tells you he is willing to take a bullet and fight for this country. Political violence has been tolerated, the media, Justice Dept, others are complicit,” Pearl posted.

Pearl also quote tweeted a July 7 article from the New Republic that compared the former President and current Republican nominee to Adolf Hitler.

“This is going too far! A discussion of differences in policy and direction a President wants to take the country is important, but to suggest Trump in 2024 is Hitler in 1932? Let’s all take a timeout! We are the greatest country in the world and we are all better than this!”
