Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama hosts 16th annual casino night fundraiser

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA) is excited to announce its 16th annual Pink Palace Casino Night, a night of fun and fundraising in support of local breast cancer research.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Soiree Event Gallery in Hoover. The fun begins at 7:00 PM. Guests will be treated to a night of live music from II DA MAXX, Vegas-style casino games like blackjack, slots, roulette and more, plus a silent auction with a wide selection of items donated by local businesses. Silent auction items include vacation packages, luxury goods, and unique experiences.

Tickets ($100) include complimentary beer and wine, food by Kathy G. and Co., $500 in charity gaming money, and a chance to win door prizes. In-person attendees and at-home participants can bid in the silent auction. Tameron Honda & Hyundai, Renasant Bank, and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB join the BCRFA as event presenting sponsors.

Beth Davis, BCRFA President & CEO, notes that the evening is a fun time for all, no matter your level of gaming experience: “Newbies and Vegas veterans alike go all in for breast cancer research. Our friendly, professional dealers explain all the rules and guide anyone wanting to try their luck!”

Last year, Pink Palace Casino Night raised over $115,000. All proceeds support the BCRFA’s mission to help find a cure for breast cancer research by funding innovative research, including in Birmingham at UAB’s O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, CerFlux, and Southern Research. Since 1996, the organization has invested more than $15 million in Alabama-based breast cancer research, fueling breakthroughs to improve detection, treatment, and prevention of the disease.

“Alabama faces an estimated 4,500 new breast cancer diagnoses this year alone and the BCRFA stands at the forefront, urgently research toward a cure to address this critical need,” said Davis. “Nearly everyone knows a friend or loved one touched by breast cancer. Pink Palace Casino Night is a fun but impactful way to honor and give hope to those affected.”
