Florida Senator Marco Rubio was a guest on Sean Hannity’s radio show today to discuss the Florida GOP primary. After deflecting the usual questions regarding his interest in being Vice President, the Senator made a good case for Florida being an early primary state. His most convincing argument was that Florida is a microcosm of the nation as a whole.
As voting played out on Tuesday, it was easy to see the diverse Florida population on display when viewing a county-by-county map:
Northwest Florida also provides some insight into the minds of voters who are very similar to Alabamians. Using data from these counties, we can get a decent idea of where things stand in Alabama as of now. After breaking down northwest Florida counties, here’s what I found:
Counties used in calculations: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Liberty, Franklin

Gingrich: 39%
Romney: 35%
Santorum: 16%
Paul: 09%
