Education Reform Fight Goes National, AEA Prepares for War

Today The Daily Caller and Fox News have taken the GOP vs. AEA Status Quo fight national in two articles posted on their respective websites.

Jeff Poor of The Daily Caller in an article titled, “How Alabama is on the verge of breaking one of the nation’s most powerful teachers’ unions,” said Judge Price’s attempt to block the GOP’s landmark education reform bill is expected to be struck down by the state’s higher courts. Fox News quoted Governor Robert Bentley as saying “Take away all of this trust stuff. Take away all of these folks that are upset. I don’t care. Let me tell you what I care about. I care about those children who are failing in those schools and they have no way out.”

The national news coverage is a bit of a departure from much of the statewide media coverage that has focused on AEA talking points and half-truths.

And the battle is getting ready to go to the next level.

Sources inside the AEA have informed Yellowhammer that the teachers union is preparing to go to war. They have requested media outlets across the state hold air time for a wave of ads attacking Republican legislators who passed the Education Accountability Act last week. Sources say the ads will focus on Judge Price’s ruling and hammer the phrase “private school tax credit,” which is one of the half-truths being trumpeted by the complicit liberal media.

Conservatives won’t sit on their hands and let the AEA once again sway public opinion with lies. This one is shaping up to be an air war the likes of which Alabama hasn’t seen it some time.
