Maverick PAC (MavPAC) today announced Martha Roby as a 40 under 40 award recipient, an honor given to professionals deemed by their peers as up-and-coming leaders for the next-generation of Republicans.
MavPAC is headed by George P. Bush, son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
According to Red Alert Politics, MavPAC “was organized to get the next generation of conservatives more involved in politics.” It was “started in Texas during the 2004 presidential election cycle…but it was only in Texas until current co-chairs George P. Bush and Jay Zeidman took over, restructured the PAC and took it nationally.”
MavPAC’s inaugural 40 under 40 award was given to 40 individuals from around the country in the categories of politics, entrepreneurs, elected officials, and business. Roby is one of four congressman to receive the award this year.
“What an honor to be recognized by Maverick PAC and to be listed alongside such a distinguished group of fellow conservatives,” Rep. Roby told Yellowhammer. “I appreciate the work MavPAC does to engage young people on the issues and to cultivate a new generation of conservative leaders. If we want a better future for our children we’re going to have to fight for it. That means informing a new generation of voters about the principles that made this country great so we’ll elect more leaders committed to those principles.”
MavPAC head George P. Bush is currently making his first run for public office as a Republican candidate for Texas Land Commissioner. He is the fourth generation of the Bush dynasty. His great grandfather was a United States Senator, his grandfather and uncle were United States presidents, and his father was the governor of Florida and may make a run for the White House in 2016.
