Biden to blame for higher than expected inflation, Alabama’s GOP delegation says

Republicans in Alabama’s congressional delegation are criticizing President Joe Biden after the latest inflation report showed prices went up more than expected in March.

According to the Labor Department’s consumer price index, which measures the price of everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rent, inflation rose 0.4% in March from the previous month, and rose 3.5% from the same time last year.

Biden tried to downplay the news saying, “We have dramatically reduced inflation from 9 percent down to close to 3 percent. We’re in a situation where we’re better situated than we were when we took office, where inflation was skyrocketing.”

The president admitted though that this might force the Federal Reserve to change it’s plan.

“This may delay it a month or so, I’m not sure of that,” Biden said. “We don’t know what the Fed is going to do for certain.”

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) said this is a direct result of “Bidenomics.”

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) explained what these increases mean for the average family in Alabama.

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) lamented what he called “the new normal” in Biden’s economy.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) argued that this is the “Bidenomics legacy.”

She also said that Americans “deserve better” from our leaders on this issue.
