Biden-Harris FEMA botching responses to hurricanes in unacceptable, Sen. Tuberville says

As the cleanup from Hurricane Helene drags on in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, Americans across the country have been left frustrated with the lack of response from the federal government particularly that of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Compounding the resentment is the development that FEMA’s emergency funds meant to help with natural disasters have now been drained to support illegal immigrants in the U.S. Additionally, days after the FEMA funding development, the Biden-Harris Administration announced $157 million in support for the Middle-eastern country of Lebanon.

Days after the hurricane and flooding caused untold death and damage, some of the areas hardest hit have yet to receive any assistance from the Administration or any associated governmental organization.

On Monday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville joined Fox Business to discuss the absence of support and growing anger over the lack of aid for Americans during a time of exceptional adversity.

“Our country is in a mess and we are in a mess. This administration has no clue what they’re doing,” Tuberville told the host. “I’ve been in the Senate now for going on four years, and it’s been like this the entire time. Now, when it comes to spending money, they know how to do that, but they don’t know how to prepare for anything.”

Tuberville said that FEMA’s response in North Carolina has been a disaster.

“Let’s go back to North Carolina. First of all, it’s not about money in North Carolina in the first few days. It’s about security. People on the ground like the military, helping find people who are stranded, opening up roads, and doing things to get communication into the area in North Carolina. They heard zero from FEMA for five or six days. This administration—Mayorkas being the leader of this pack when it comes to some kind of security, whether it’s the border, or whether it’s FEMA—he’s never prepared. He always blames somebody else.”

The Senator emphasized that money meant for the relief effort has gone to noncitizens.

“They’ve been spending billions of dollars on the illegals coming across the border. Once they get here, they take care of them much more than they take care of our veterans or the homeless people living in this country,” said Tuberville. “I was coming from Bogotá, Colombia, a few weeks ago, and half the plane was filled with Venezuelans and people from South America that our government and taxpayer money—they were flying people on those planes to Houston. It was a commercial airliner, and then they were going places from there. It’s getting worse every day.”

The Biden-Harris Administration’s recent decision to send millions in support to Lebanon and further enable Iran was Tuberville’s next point of contention.

“We’re giving some money, some weapons to Israel, but now we’re sending money to Lebanon who they’re fighting,” he said. “We continue to do this. We’re sending money to Hamas. We’re building ports for Hamas. We’re letting Iran run rampant in terms of making money to fund all this stuff. […] It is out of control. All they’re trying to do is sell the people in Michigan and some of these areas that have people from Islamic countries that, ‘Hey, we’re taking care of your people over there. Vote for us in four or five weeks. And we promise you, we’ll help you again.’”

“We care nothing about the American people, and it’s out of control and I hope the American people see what’s going on.”
